Welcome to KidSay ("we," "us," "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the KidSay app (the "Service"). By using KidSay, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
KidSay is a personal memory-keeping app that lets you record quotes, photos, and milestones for your family. The free tier stores your data locally on your device, encrypted with a passphrase you control. KidSay Plus (optional, paid) adds cloud sync and family sharing.
2. Your Account and Family Lock
KidSay's Family Lock encrypts your memories with a passphrase only you know. We do not store your passphrase and cannot recover it for you. If you lose both your passphrase and your Recovery Key, your memories cannot be recovered by KidSay or anyone else. You are solely responsible for keeping your passphrase and Recovery Key safe.
3. Subscriptions (KidSay Plus)
KidSay Plus is a subscription priced at $39/year, billed annually until cancelled. Subscriptions are processed via Stripe. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
4. Printed Memory Books
KidSay may offer printed memory books as a one-time purchase ($29-$49 depending on length) fulfilled by a third-party print partner. Orders are final once placed and sent to production; see our Refund Policy for details.
5. Acceptable Use
Use KidSay only for lawful, personal purposes. Don't use the Service to store or share content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on others' rights.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that KidSay will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost — please export backups regularly.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KidSay is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of memories, photos, or data.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of KidSay after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
